learn how to trim cake layers before assembling
learn how to assemble a 3 layered cake on top of each other
learn how to dirty ice a high cake in preparation to cover
learn how to do a final side scraping of a high cake
learn how to stack a smaller cake on top another cake using cake dowels.
Requirements to bring along
- 3 x 4-5cm high layers of 6" (15cm) round cake
- 3 x 4-5cm high layers of 8" (20cm) round cake
- 1kg of butter cream to sandwich your cakes together - no color
- 1x 15cm thin cake board (available from Kadies)
- 1x 30cm thick round cake board - for final display(available from Kadies)
- 1pkt of 5 cake straws (available from Kadies)
- small offset spatula (approx 10cm blade) (available from Kadies)
- tall metal side scraper (available from Kadies)
- large mixing bowl at least 3L volume or more, 1 small mixing bowl
- wooden spoon
- flexible spatula to scrape down sides of mixing bowl
- wet cloth and a clean dry dish towel
- cake box to take cake home in
