Course Content:

- How to make butter icing

- How to color Butter icing

- Basic Piping techniques with different icing nozzles 

Requirement list:

- Pen

- Apron

- Wet cloth and Tea towel

- Non-serrated knife - normal dinner knife is perfect

- Small pair of scissors

- Icing nozzles:  1M(rose Nozzle) - available from Kadies

                            noz no 133 - grass nozzle - available from Kadies

- 10 disposable icing bags (available for purchase at Kadies)

Cupcake designs:

  1. Short grass with drop flowers and leaves
  2. Long grass – Monster
  3. 3 tone ice-cream swirl
  4. Large all in one rose
  5. 3 tone hydranger

Nozzles used:

  • No 133 - Grass nozzle to pipe short grass, long grass and nests
  • 1M - Large all-in-one rose, rosette, ice-cream swirl 

 

Supplied by Kadies:

  • Class Notes
  • Butter icing
  • coloring
  • 12 x cupcakes (Kadies cupcake mix)
  • Container to take home

 

 

Butter Icing Recipe:

1kg icing sugar

500g softened butter/wooden spoon margarine

2tsp clear vanilla essence

  1. Soften butter till smooth and soft
  2. Slowly add icing sugar till all blended in
  3. Colour and use
